Let's have some fun and explore the world of candy and wine pairing. It may sound simple, but there is an art to this. Butterfingers, Peanut Butter Cups, Kit Kats, Milky Ways...oh my! Chardonnay, Reisling, Zinfandel and Cab...oh yes! This will change the way you think about candy and wine (you're welcome).
Do you drink the same bottle of wine EVERY year with your Thanksgiving dinner? Wanna do something different (but not like the tofu casserole Aunt Suzy brought last year)? On this night, we will deconstruct the traditional Thanksgiving dinner and pair some amazing and different (yet oh so affordable) wines with each. Learn the art of the mother sauces, new cooking crazes like the Sous Vide and other great things. Mary Guccione, wine enthusiast, will pair the food with great wine. Relax and enjoy a very special evening unlike any other.

Shed Horn is a small, boutique winery from California. Making less than 4,000 bottles a year, this wine is consistently recognized and praised by wine experts and Sommeliers across the nation. Spend an evening meeting the owner, asking her questions while tasting 5 of her best wines. Wines will be available for purchase at a discount that night to be ready for your Memorial Day weekend. $20 per person. Includes snacks.
-Join us and spend a couple of hours literally making your own pasta while listening to stories from Chef Doug and Cool Kat Wine Expert, Dave Fender. Begin the evening with tasting a couple of whites hile nibbling on Italian cheeses, then when the pasta is done, two more wines from Italy will be paired with the pasta/sauces. End the evening with another Italian red and dessert. Wines chosen will be from multiple regions of Italy, showing off the wine they are known for...expect Barollo, Barbaresco, Chianti, Prosecco...Great date night or GNO. There are some very distinct differences on wines created in the Old World and those made in the New. Would you like to be able to detect and understand why a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc tastes different from a French Sancerre (which is also Sav Blanc)? What about an Italian Pinot Grigio vs a Californian? Dave Fender, the coolest cat in wine, will lead us thru this tasting. Oh, and did we mention that this night we will be paying homage to The Great Gatsby? Attendees will be required to dress in 1920's attire. $20 per person. Limited to 25 people. Reservations required. When you read the back of a wine bottle for the notes and you think: "Red currents? Oregano? I don't taste that." Well this night we will teach you how to identify those obvious and obscure things with a component tasting. You can touch, smell, taste those very things that the wine maker talks about.
